For those who might not know, Good Game is an event for tech companies where employees compete in the video game Counter-Strike 2. The emphasis of this event is not so much on gaming but on networking, socializing, team building, and the good atmosphere for which the tournament has become known over the years. However, this tournament has another, much more important aspect, which is charitable. Namely, the registration fees for the event are used to collect funds that the top 3 teams distribute to one of five charitable organizations.<\/p>\n

Plavi tim, represented by colleagues Dubravka Fazli\u0107, Karlo Jagu\u0161t, Filip Kani\u017eaj, Hrvoje Horvat, Osaka, Renato Vinkovi\u0107, and Toni Bili\u0107, participated in this tournament for the third time. Although the draw was not in our favor, we achieved our best result so far \u2013 a placement in the top 16 (13th-16th place) out of a total of 32 companies.<\/p>\n

In the first round of the finals, we faced off against Huddle Tech. In a match that lasted 2 and a half hours, filled with technical problems, frequent pauses, and many turnarounds, we managed to keep our focus and composure, turn the score around, and ultimately win after 3 exciting overtimes with a score of 19-17.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the draw in the second round paired us with last year’s champions, the strong team from Span, who won their first-round match 13-0. We gave it our all but lost 13-3, which placed us in the so-called lower bracket. The second day of the competition started in the 2nd round of the lower bracket, where we played our match against the Storm Group team on the main stage, in front of an audience and supporters, live-streamed. Colleague Dubravka “Tiny Tina” Fazli\u0107 confidently led us to a convincing victory of 13-3.<\/p>\n

Immediately after that match, without a break, we faced the team from Visage Technologies. In yet another long match with many turnarounds, we were defeated with a score of 16-13 after overtimes, thus ending our participation in the tournament.<\/p>\n
