Petrinja, September 2, 2021 – Today, in Petrinja, art supplies were handed over to 74 students in the 1st and 2nd grades of the Petrinja Elementary School. Plavi tim employees organized themselves and quickly raised funds to purchase art kits with accompanying supplies and art folders. In addition to the supplies, sports equipment bags were also provided to the young students, aiming to ensure a carefree start to the school year.

It has been just over eight months since a devastating earthquake struck the area of Sisak, Petrinja, Glina, and the surrounding areas. Many employees of Plavi tim live in the earthquake-affected area, and the rest of the colleagues organized themselves immediately after the earthquake to provide a helping hand in the most challenging moments. Recognizing that their assistance should not stop there and that the people in the earthquake-affected area needed help before, especially in the months following the earthquake, Blue Team employees took the initiative to organize and, in coordination with the Sisak-Moslavina County, arranged to purchase art supplies for the 1st and 2nd graders at Petrinja Elementary School.

“We always look forward to every donation at our school, and we are particularly excited about this one because it’s intended for our youngest students, meaning our first and second graders who will be starting school this year at the Hrastovica Branch School. This will make the beginning of the new school year even easier for them,” said Principal Robert Groza.

Kristian Schuster, the Director of the Plavi tim, stated: “A tremendously positive energy prevailed within the team during the fundraising. Our colleagues from all over Croatia participated in purchasing the supplies, once again showing their big hearts and readiness to help whenever needed. I sincerely thank everyone who participated and hope that this small gift from us will make the start of the school year easier for the little ones in Petrinja and their parents.”

Funds were quickly collected for the purchase of art supplies for a total of 74 students. The initial idea was to buy supplies for the first grade, but upon hearing that these were students from Petrinja, Eurokarbon d.o.o. and Eurocom d.o.o., from which art supplies were ordered, extended their offer, making it possible to purchase supplies for both the first and second grades. We would like to thank them for their generous offer!

Darjan Vlahov, the Head of the Administrative Department for Education, Culture, and Sports of Sisak-Moslavina County, also expressed his gratitude to the donors, recalling that INA began providing assistance shortly after the devastating earthquake. “Let me express my gratitude to INA in this way. This is not their first donation since the earthquake—starting from fuel donations, donations of IT equipment, one million kuna for the renovation of Viktorovac High School, which was renovated thanks to INA’s donation, and today, here at the Dragutin Tadijanović Elementary School, where we are due to the donation to the First Elementary School in Petrinja, which will certainly delight the first and second-grade students.”

Through this gesture, Plavi tim employees once again demonstrated their big hearts!
